Did you know me when I attended elementary school at Camarillo Heights?

My family has since moved to the Bay Area. I like the Bay Area, but I miss the warmth of Camarillo and its proximity to the ocean.

Did you know me when I attended elementary school at Valle Verde?

I continued on to Foothill Middle School. That's where I first did IT for a school; some simple networking of a group of Macintosh LC's.

Did you know me when I attended middle school at Foothill?

I went to Northgate. I got into video editing, and ended up doing a lot of videos for people who had one of Mr. Parson's video assignments. Even my final project for graduation was on digital moviemaking. Also, I got a car, an El Camino. And then it got struck by some girl. And I had to say goodbye. But I was determined not-at-fault, so it's not all bad.

Did you know me when I attended high school at Northgate?

I went to college at Beloit in the city of Beloit, Wisconsin. I met a lot of interesting people and did a lot of things I thought I'd never do in my lifetime, which I suppose is to be expected since I went halfway across the U.S. It's much different than your bread-and-butter U.C. or C.S.U. college. Much smaller (1,300 people), and much more personal. Also, I continued doing the filmmaking thing. I managed to convince the school to buy an XL1S and let me use it. Which is pretty cool.

I took the XL1S to a protest in Washington, D.C., to film the whole thing. That was hectic. I learned a lot about producing documentaries -- and a lot about staying out of trouble when surrounded by crowds of protesters.

Later on I lugged that camera up and down the U.S. when I followed cyclists on an 18-day cross-country road trip from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. Spending 18 days on the road with little sleep, power meals, the same group of people every day, and every waking moment looking through that viewfinder also taught me a lot. It's an activity I'd never repeat, but the experience was great to do it once.

I started with a major in Computer Science. Then I added a minor in physics. Then I upgraded it to a major. All of this at faculty urging, mind you, and not of any sane decision of my own.

I returned to Beloit for my senior year, very fulfilled with the experience and also better programmer.

Did you know me as a student at Beloit College, class of 2005?

I landed a job at Amazon.com (working as a programmer for the Inbound Transportation Department) and moved to Seattle. I lived in a one-bedroom in downtown Seattle; it was very nice and I enjoyed it. You can reach me by my cell phone or through e-mail.

Did you know me as an employee at Amazon.com?

I left my job at Amazon.com to pursue interests in the Bay Area. I landed a job as a programmer at Tickle, Inc. in San Francisco. The company is much smaller and the people feel more energetic. I do a lot of Java programming (which I like) in Spring framework (which I hate).

Did you know me as a member of the Crushridge server on World of Warcraft?

I still play WoW occasionally. I rerolled Alliance after Daft got bored with Horde. It's not nearly as addicting as it was, however.

Did you know me as an employee at Tickle.com?

I left my job at Tickle when it started flagging, and got a job at Scribd, a startup right across the street. I do 100% Ruby on Rails programming. Tickle will always be family though!

Did you know me as a guest at Alex Utter's wedding?

Don't worry; I haven't caused any other terrorist scares since the iPod Incident.
